- Nov 19, 2020 - The Mill Casino. Hotel is owned by the Coquille Indian Tribe. We are located on Highway 101 in North Bend, Oregon on Coos Bay. Our casino overlooks a beautiful bay and has over 200 waterfront rooms.
She replaces Larry Close, who led the North Bend casino since December 1998. Close begins his retirement after 44 years in the casino-hotel industry.
From her recent post as Director of Casino Operations at Arizona Charlie’s Casino in Las Vegas, Porcaro brings considerable experience in all aspects of casino and hospitality management to her new position at The Mill. In 1995, she got her management career off the ground by launching the Grand Victoria Riverboat Casino in Elgin, Illinois. As Vice President of Casino Operations and later Vice President and General Manager, she was involved in every aspect of a casino startup.
Since then, Porcaro served in similar positions at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and the Lumiere Place Casino and Hotels in St. Louis where she served as Vice President and General Manager. In between, she served as a Gaming Consultant at Richardson Builders, a top Las Vegas gaming consulting firm that designs casino floor layouts.

BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):
Keep the Timbers kitchen premises in a clean and orderly condition, by performing the following duties.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee.
• Keeping all food and beverage areas clean.
• Proper operation of the dishwasher in Timbers.
• Sanitary scraping and cleaning of all flatware, glasses, dishes, pots and pans.
• Sanitary storage of all flatware, glasses, dishes, pots and pans.
• Transporting soiled dishes and flatware from the various waitstations and serving areas in Timbers to the dish staging area for cleaning.
• Assist in bussing the dining room when needed.
• Restocking all waitstations with clean flatware, glassware and dishes.
• Restocking dishes on the hot food line.
• Removing trash and recyclables from kitchen.
• Sweeping & mopping all areas of the kitchen floor.
• Using a variety of cleaning compounds and chemicals in the kitchen area.
• Tending to specific cleaning tasks that have been assigned.
• Assist with food prep when other duties are complete.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
• Two (2) years related previous experience preferred.
• Must retain a current Food Handlers Card
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies
